It&#8217;s a three year fellowship, providing both salary support and research funding.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Who<\/strong> You are eligible to apply up to 5 years post-PhD, and has allowances for career interruptions. You must have the support of an Australian university, but you do NOT have to be currently employed at an Australian university. <\/p>\n<p><strong>When<\/strong> For funding commending in 2027 (for which the default PhD award date is 1 March 2021), applications will be open early in the new year, with anticipated results announcement in September-October.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Why Last?<\/strong> I&#8217;ve been told it&#8217;s the last. The ARC isn&#8217;t great at actually announcing things like this. (<a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20250718160806\/https:\/\/www.arc.gov.au\/news-publications\/media\/communiques\/update-future-arc-funded-research\">this is what I can find<\/a>). So if you&#8217;re eligible, and want to live in Australia, apply this round!<\/p>\n<p><strong>Is it a good deal?<\/strong> Yes (personal experience).<\/p>\n<p><strong>What does an application look like<\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/petermc.net\/maths\/papers\/decraapplication.pdf\">Here&#8217;s mine<\/a>.
